AI Use Policy
How LegalsOne approaches artificial intelligence — current status, planned capabilities, and governing commitments.
Effective Date: February 23, 2026
Current AI Status
As of the effective date of this policy, LegalsOne does not currently deploy artificial intelligence or machine learning features within the core platform. The LegalsOne platform is a workflow and operations management tool built on structured workflows, rule-based automation, and human-driven processes.
This policy is published proactively to document our governing commitments as we evaluate AI-assisted capabilities for future inclusion. Any introduction of AI features will be subject to the obligations described below.
No AI Training on Customer Data
LegalsOne will not use customer data — including any data uploaded to or generated within the platform by law firms or their clients — to train, fine-tune, or improve any AI or machine learning model, whether operated by LegalsOne or a third-party AI provider.
This commitment applies to all customer data regardless of whether AI features are enabled, and will remain in effect for any future AI capabilities introduced to the platform. Customer data belongs to the law firm; our role is that of a data processor, and we do not use it for our own model development.
Future AI Features
LegalsOne is evaluating AI-assisted capabilities that may be introduced in future platform versions. Candidate areas include:
- Drafting assistance for internal documents and template population
- Intelligent workflow suggestions based on matter type
- Natural-language search within the platform
- Automated deadline and task suggestions
Any AI feature introduced will first be disclosed in a platform update notice, governed by this policy (or a revised version), and — where material — subject to customer review before deployment.
AI features will be introduced as optional capabilities, not forced replacements for existing workflows, wherever technically feasible.
Human Review Requirement
Any AI-assisted output generated within the LegalsOne platform is a suggestion only. Law firm users are required to review any AI-generated content before use in client matters, court filings, communications, or any professional context. AI assistance does not substitute for the professional judgment of a licensed attorney.
LegalsOne makes no warranty that AI-generated suggestions are accurate, complete, legally correct, or appropriate for any specific matter. See our Professional Disclaimer.
AI Limitations Disclosure
Users of any future AI features should understand that AI systems:
- Can produce inaccurate, incomplete, or hallucinated outputs
- Do not have knowledge of recent legal developments beyond their training data cutoff
- Cannot provide jurisdiction-specific legal advice
- May reflect biases present in training data
- Should never be the sole basis for legal decisions affecting clients or court filings
Data Handling for AI Features
When AI features are introduced, any data processed by an AI model will:
- Be subject to the same access controls and encryption standards as all other platform data
- Be identified in our Subprocessors list if processed by a third-party AI provider
- Be subject to our Data Processing Agreement obligations
- Never be retained by any third-party AI provider for model training (we will contractually require this)
Opt-Out
When AI features are available, law firm administrators will have the ability to disable AI features for their firm within platform settings. Opting out will ensure no law firm data is processed by AI components.
