E-Signature Disclosure & Consent
Disclosures required under the ESIGN Act and UETA for electronic signatures used within the LegalsOne platform.
Effective Date: February 23, 2026
Scope of This Disclosure
This E-Signature Disclosure & Consent applies to the use of electronic signatures within the LegalsOne platform and to agreements between LegalsOne LLC and its customers (law firms) that are executed electronically, including acceptance of these Terms of Service and related agreements.
This disclosure is provided pursuant to the Electronic Signatures in Global and National Commerce Act (15 U.S.C. § 7001 et seq., "E-SIGN Act") and, where applicable, the Uniform Electronic Transactions Act ("UETA").
Consent to Use of Electronic Signatures
By clicking "I Agree," signing up for a LegalsOne account, or otherwise accepting these terms electronically, you consent to:
- The use of electronic signatures to execute agreements with LegalsOne LLC
- The use of the LegalsOne platform's electronic signature features (if applicable under your subscription plan) to execute documents within your firm's workflows
- Receiving legally required disclosures in electronic form
Your electronic signature has the same legal effect as your handwritten signature.
Legal Effect of Electronic Signatures
Under the E-SIGN Act and UETA, electronic records and electronic signatures are legally binding and enforceable. By accepting LegalsOne's Terms of Service electronically, you are entering into a binding legal agreement with the same force and effect as a physical, ink-signed contract.
Electronic signatures captured through the LegalsOne platform for law firm workflows (such as client intake forms, engagement letters, or fee agreements, where supported) similarly carry legal effect subject to applicable state law. Law firms are responsible for ensuring that e-signature processes comply with their jurisdiction's professional responsibility rules and any applicable court rules or client-specific requirements.
Hardware and Software Requirements
To use electronic signature features and receive electronically signed records, you need:
- A device with internet access (computer, tablet, or smartphone)
- A current web browser supporting modern TLS (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari — most recent two major versions)
- A valid email address to receive signature requests and completed document copies
- PDF reader software or capability to view signed PDF documents
- Sufficient storage to retain copies of signed records
Right to Receive Paper Copies
You have the right to receive any record in paper form. To request a paper copy of any record provided to you electronically, contact us at legal@legalsone.com. A reasonable fee may apply for paper copies. Requests will be fulfilled within 30 days.
Withdrawing Consent
You may withdraw your consent to receive records electronically or to execute agreements electronically by contacting us at legal@legalsone.com. Please note:
- Withdrawal of consent applies to future records only; it does not affect the validity of any electronic signatures or agreements already executed
- Withdrawal of consent may result in an inability to continue using the LegalsOne platform, since electronic execution of terms is required for platform access
- LegalsOne will notify you of any consequences before processing your withdrawal
Law Firm Responsibility for Client E-Signature
LegalsOne is a technology platform, not a law firm. When law firm users use platform e-signature features to obtain signatures from their clients, the law firm is solely responsible for:
- Obtaining appropriate client consent to use electronic signatures
- Ensuring e-signature use complies with applicable bar rules, court rules, and jurisdiction-specific requirements
- Maintaining copies of executed documents as required by applicable professional and record-keeping obligations
- Verifying that e-signature is legally valid for the specific document type and transaction in the relevant jurisdiction
LegalsOne provides e-signature infrastructure but makes no legal representation that any particular use of e-signature is valid or enforceable for any specific transaction.
